In the second part of the workshop, we will explore whether the writer is someone you as producer want by your side when things go wrong, which they usually do. What do producers need to look for in writers? How can they identify the right writer for a film or TV series and how do they need to analyze scripts to make sure that the final script will attract the finance from investors and streamers?

I have been an agent for nearly 50 years and agents’ careers depend on making good choices in selecting writers: what are the tricks to making better choices and what are the dangers? About the Workshop (For Writers)
Films are narrative stories, told using journeys taken by characters. Plots describe what actions happen on that journey. The mentor is more interested in why those actions happened, in the emotional journey of the characters. What happens in a movie happens because of who the characters are. By enabling audiences to connect, identify, empathize, to almost become those characters, you can achieve success. And that is one of the keys to being a successful writer, as well as having talent Which cannot be taught), understanding what producers need from you and having some knowledge of the market.

In the first part of the Writers’ Workshop, we will look at how to provoke an emotional and physiological response (over which the audience has no control) in the audience. In the second part we will look at what preparations you can make to demonstrate that you have the talent and the understanding of the market and the needs of producers.
